PenWill Group Incorporated is a strategic business activation and implementation firm. We work at the point where most small and micro businesses stall — not at the idea, and not at the ambition, but at the documentation, the capital, the compliance, and the capacity required to actually operate at the next level.
That work takes three forms. We write grants and funding materials on behalf of clients. We design and deliver activation programming — cohorts, labs, and curricula — for institutions that need measurable outcomes. And we convene: town halls, forums, and policy work that put business owners in the same room as the people setting the terms.
We are Ohio-rooted and nationally available. Our clients span professional services, travel, retail, health, construction, and the creative sector.
Erica C. Penick
Erica founded PenWill Group to close the gap she kept watching businesses fall into: strong operators with real revenue who could not get to capital because they got stuck or stalled at advice and coaching with no activation and implementation support a funder, lender, or procurement officer could act on.
She served as a Capital Partner to the Cuyahoga County Office of Small Business, delivering business plan development, financial management, certification guidance, capability statements, and business development to Cuyahoga County enterprises; Contributor to the 2025-2029 five year strategic plan for the Cuyahoga County Department of Economic Development; Architect & Creator of the AI for Small Business Program to support the growth and sustainability of small and micro, for-profit businesses by providing hands-on instruction that results in a tangible product from the sessions, positioning participants as producers and not just consumers of AI, driving competitive parity and scalability for participating businesses through AI, partnering/pairing businesses with students (workforce) to help implement AI, and students with businesses to gain experience.
Erica is also a Contributing Architect of the Cuyahoga County STIMulus program that awarded financial grants to small businesses navigating COVID-19 challenges and positioned them for sustanability; and a Co-Author of the Ohio Black Small & Micro Business Agenda with Enlightened Consulting, and the Convener behind its Cleveland and Columbus forums.
She leads a bench of specialists — grant writers, funding strategists, financial specialists, and digital marketers — assembled per engagement rather than carried as overhead, which is how a firm this size delivers at this scope.
