OHIO BLACK SMALL & MICRO BUSINESS AGENDA
A bipartisan, stakeholder-driven platform elevating the policy priorities of Black-owned businesses across Ohio — authored by business owners, and put to the candidates and officeholders who shape the state's economy.
Capital
Access to affordable capital for micro and small enterprises, and lending terms that reflect how these businesses actually operate.
Contracts
Real public procurement access, 8(a) readiness and protection, and certification pathways that lead to awarded work.
Capacity
Technical assistance and workforce development funded at the level the need actually requires.
Accountability
Transparent economic-development outcomes — published, measurable, and tied to the dollars committed.
The Agenda focuses on practical solutions that help entrepreneurs start, sustain, and scale: access to capital, SBA 8(a) readiness and protection, public procurement access, technical assistance, workforce development, and transparent economic-development outcomes.
This is not a candidate forum, and it is not a partisan endorsement. It is a community-authored agenda that candidates and officeholders are invited to respond to. That distinction is the whole strategy — a forum makes you a stage; an agenda makes you the convener. Conveners set the questions.
Developed by Enlightened Consulting with PenWill Group Incorporated. Forums convened in Cleveland and Columbus.
